Shanghai Jiaotong ARWU (2013) ranks Pitt 61st in the world, 39th in the US, 20th among US public universities

Times Higher Education (2012-13) ranks Pitt 76th in the world, 37th in the US, 18th among US public universities

QS (2013-14) ranks Pitt 106th in the world, 32nd in the US, and 11th among US public universities

Top tier

Center for Measuring University Performance (2011) ranks Pitt in their top tier of US public universities (with Berkeley, Illinois, Michigan, North Carolina, UCLA and Wisconsin)

University of Western Australia (2010) examined research output of the world’s top universities and ranked Pitt 31st in the world

5th    

Ranked 5th in the US in 2012 for funding from the US National Institutes of Health, third among public universities.  And ranked 5th in the US in 2012 for total US federal science and engineering support
